Sweet Adeline Bakeshop is my favorite neighborhood cafe/study spot in the East Bay. What’s not to like? The place always smell wonderful and is filled with an assortment of fresh baked goods, from delicious scones, muffins, buckle, cakes, macaroons, cookies. They also have great, savory quiche and daily sandwiches.
Furthermore, the place is spacious, filled with light, with great windows, lots of seatings, large tables, and super friendly staff.
I am absolutely in love with their green onion cheddar scone…I am usually a sweet scone person but that’s one great savory scone. I also really enjoy their lemon ginger tea bread. Their macaroons are another one of my favorites. Ha! I just realize that none of my photos are of the food I just described. Probably because I always eat them too quickly.
I have been studying there for about a year and a half now. It becomes my home as finals approach. Recently, I’ve had a very delicious butternut squash quiche and a very good turkey and swiss sandwich with cranberry sauce. I’ve also had a very filling apple turnover, with delicious apple filling that is neither too tart nor sweet, and good double shot cappucino.
The photos don’t do the place nor the food justice. They were taken with my iPhone and I was being sneaky taking photos in the store. Not that I think they’d care.
Sweet Adeline Bakeshop is located at 3350 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA; at the corner of Adeline and 63rd Streets. They are open Mon-Fri from 7 AM to 6PM and weekends from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Perhaps you can deliver some to us when you visit New York? it looks so good.
